We have now stayed twice at Bali Dynasty Resort, once with the kids in April 2019 for 2 nights and by myself in August 2018. The kids loved this resort! The family rooms were a favourite, Mason loved the water slides and Charlotte really enjoyed her spa treatment we had together. One thing is certain, this is perhaps one of the most kid friendly resorts in Bali. So many activities for the kids and the family rooms come at a great price. If you would like to book your next Bali family holiday at Bali Dynasty Resort Kuta use this link to book directly with them.

Overview of Dynasty Hotel Bali
Located just a 5-10 minute drive from the Bali Airport, the Bali Dynasty Resort is a kids paradise. With kids clubs and activities for a range of ages, the kids have a blast at this fun hotel. Not located directly on the beach, it’s only a 50 metre walk from the back gate to the beach club run by the resort. While not in the centre of Kuta, there is still a range of shopping malls nearby and Waterbom Waterpark is a 650 metre walk from the front of the resort.

Charity work by The Bali Dynasty Resort
I love all the work that Bali Dynasty Resort does with a well respected Bali-based charity organisation Solemen. It is my charity of choice and our family donates an amount each month. Here is some information about their latest fundraising effort.
“Bali Dynasty Resort is more than just a room with a view. With the support of you, our guests, we have been able to contribute to the continued well-being of more than 100 disadvantaged men, women, and children across the island of Bali. Working with Solemen, a Bali-based charity organisation, our guest’s contributions have allowed us to fund life-saving operations, access medical care, provide equipment for the physically disabled, and much more.
We would like to take you behind the scenes of our biggest project to date, one that would not be possible without your help. When Bali Dynasty Resort first began supporting Solemen in 2016, they were taking care of approximately 500 people. Today, that number is nearing 2,000.
As the need for support grows, so do our fundraising efforts. Through our ‘Helping Friends for Life’ initiative, Bali Dynasty Resort has been able to fund Solehouse, a care facility with a home environment providing support and resources to keep families together before, during, and after medical treatment.
The new Bali Dynasty Recovery Centre, located on the ground floor of the new Solemen office, is set to open its doors on 1st July 2019. It will be a much larger space with extra bedrooms to accommodate even more Solebuddies.
We are urgently seeking funds to furnish bedrooms, the kitchen, lounge, and bathrooms. You can be a part of this exciting project by participating in our Quiz Nights at Gracie Kelly’s, contributing to our Dollar/night program, or giving a straight donation to our charity boxes during your stay or via the Go Fund link below. We thank you in advance for your kind consideration.”

Bali Dynasty Resort Map
Please take note of the accommodation details for each room on the Dynasty website. Also check out this map provided on their website with even more detail about each wing, click this link here. This gives information on what level the rooms are situated on. For example all of the kids suite rooms are facing a garden on the ground floor.
Please note: Gracie Kelly’s is now located at the front of the resort where the car park is on the map on Jalan Kartika. Once I have an updated map I will put it up. Where Gracie Kelly’s used to be is the new departure lounge for guests use. Also where the Family Garden rooms on the left hand side of the map are located is now where the Family Lagoon Access rooms will be opening in July 2019.

Bali Dynasty Resort Rooms
The Dynasty website has great details of each room and here I will list the 4 different family room types that I viewed/stayed in:
Kids Suites
These rooms are fantastic for families. Our kids loved the bunk beds and Mason especially loved the Angry Birds linen 😉 The balcony was a beautiful quiet spot to sit and enjoy a drink while the kids were in bed. The included bath was a bonus but did have a shower curtain which can always be fun with kids! The play station was an added bonus of the kids suites.

Deluxe Pool View
I stayed in this room in August 2018. Loved the view of the pool from the balcony and when the doors were closed most of the noise from the pool was blocked out. If you are after an extra quiet room if you have a bub or toddler that needs quiet during the day to sleep, I would choose a garden facing room. The room was a good size and up to 2 adults and 2 kids can stay in the room (note: there is an extra cost for the kids and the 4th occupant must be under 6 years old). The bathroom was an ok size with a shower only and glass screen. I loved that the activities for each day and the next were posted on the bathroom mirror. Fridge and tea/coffee making facilities with the TV having a few kids channels. The beds were good and I had no problem sleeping.

Family Pool View
Location is perfect if you want easy access to the main pool area. Only steps away from jumping straight into the pool, these would be perfect for families that want to be near all of the action. Beautiful terrace with a couple of chairs to enjoy a drink while the kids are in bed.

Family Studio
If you are after easy access to the street these family rooms are the best choice. No pool noise from these rooms but they do overlook the entrance to the hotel. Only a couple of minute walk to the pools and kids club. These rooms are slightly bigger than the other family rooms of similar design but do not have a bathtub.

Family Suites
I was shown through the new family suites in April 2019 and was impressed with the space and how modern it was. The suite I saw was on the 1st floor overlooking the H20 bar. The suites have a master bedroom with ensuite and a seperate living space with kitchen, toilet, shower and fold down beds. These rooms fit 2 adults, 3 kids and 1 infant in a portacot.

Family Lagoon Pool Access
These rooms are the original Family Garden Rooms that are close to the kids club. While we were staying in April 2019 they were building the pool and it looked awesome! There are 16 Family Lagoon Pool Access rooms and there will also be a deck with lounge chairs and table settings. These rooms can sleep 5 people and will have direct access to the lagoon pool with a kids safety gate provided on the terrace.

Facilities at Bali Dynasty Resort Hotel
The kids are well looked after at the Bali Dynasty Kids Club and the 2 pools with one including a waterpark with waterslides is sure to delight the younger kids. A playground suitable for kids under 10 years and under is fenced so perfect for runners like our son Mason.
Pictures below are from our stay in April 2019.
Here are some photos I took of the different areas:
Main Pool
The main pool was a great size and families were having a great time with a pool bar keeping parents happy! It can get busy around the pool with lots of families enjoying the facilities. There is a shallower area for the kids to play in but at times they did have activities in this area. The main pool is very deep and I couldn’t stand up in the middle so keep note of this with kids.

Kids Pool with splash park and waterslides
The kids pool area is a lot of fun but not a huge space for a lot of kids. It is open from 8am-6pm and the water zone and water slides open from 9am-6pm. You can tell it has been well used over the years by kids but all the kids were having a great time including the activities that the staff were running. The kids can not access the kids club from this area even though it is adjacent to the kids club.

Lazy Pool (Adults only zone)
Being without the kids I managed to escape to the adults only pool. It was quite chilly though as I don’t think it gets much sun! Also you could still hear all the kids at the main pool.

Kids Playground
The area for the kids with slides, swings and other entertainment was fantastic especially for younger kids. The best part was the enclosed fence so you could let them run around and have fun without worrying about them escaping.

Kupu-Kupu Kids Club (Kids aged 4-12yrs)
The kids club was full with kids when I had a look through. Well set up for kids, they were just leaving to go on an activity with the staff. Kids are welcome under the age of 4 years but must be accompanied by a nanny. Parents are not allowed, at the time of writing, to accompany their kids in the kids club. They also have kids movie nights on Thursday and Saturday nights.

Den Teens Club (Kids aged 10-16yrs)
A great space for the older kids, this area above the kids club is an air conditioned space for them to chill out with internet, play station, pool table, table tennis and much more.

Other Activities
There are many other activities and things that you can do at the Bali Dynasty Resort, never a chance to get bored!

Ashoka Spa
I don’t often use hotel spas as I find they can be expensive and not great value for money. I was pleasantly surprised by the spa at the Dynasty Resort. I thoroughly enjoyed my massage in August 2018 and was a great space to escape from the kids around the pool. After 6pm there was a discount so perfect to use once the kids are in bed! My 1 hour Balinese massage was 236,000rp or approx. $23AUD. Without the discount it would be 295,000rp or approx. $29AUD.
When we visited in April 2019 Charlotte asked if she could have a massage. We had Mum and Daugther massage and it was lovely.

Market at Bali Dynasty Resort
Each night from 6:30pm next to Cafe Piazza was a market set up. If shopping out in the chaos of Kuta is too much this is a great way to get souvenirs or gifts.
Bali Dynasty Food Options
The Dynasty has a great range of restaurants available and the kids and I enjoyed the food.

H20 (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Open 7am-10pm
H20 Breakfast
Was a lovely spot for breakfast overlooking the main pool at The Dynasty. For breakfast, guests staying in the family and executive rooms have access to this restaurant for breakfast.

You can find the full H20 menu at this link here. Below is the kids menu from our stay in April 2019.

Each night is a different themed buffet and kids aged 12 years and under eat for free from the buffet with a full paying adult (which at the time of writing was 235,000rp nett per person)
- Monday – Italian Pizza & Pasta Night
- Tuesday – Curry & Satay Night
- Wednesday – Wild West Wednesdays
- Thursday – Brazillian Churrasco
- Friday – Malam Bali
- Saturday – Aussie BBQ
- Sunday – Roast Night

Breakfast at Sen5es
Open 6am-10:30am
I enjoyed the buffet breakfast at Sen5es restaurant during my August 2018 stay and appreciated the air conditioning after my early morning walk. I ordered a latte that was a $2aud charge and it was ok to drink. There was a good range including facilities for the kids like high chairs and plastic cups.
Gracie Kelly’s (Irish Pub)
Open 8am – late
Gracie Kellys is so much fun with the kids and the food is delicious. We loved the new look and space of Gracie Kelly’s and is now located at the front of the entrance to Dynasty Resort. Check out the link here for more up to date details of what Gracie Kelly’s has coming up.

Cafe Piazza
Open 8:30am-9:30pm
I ordered a latte from the Cafe and it was delicious. Great spot for a coffee and cake during the day.

Golden Lotus (Chinese Restaurant)
Open 11:30am-2:30pm and 6pm-10pm
During our April 2019 stay I dined at the Golden Lotus and it was very yummy! Good value and authentic Chinese.

Room service menu
Kids needing to chill out in the room and you can’t be bothered to go out for dinner, the room service menu has something for every hour of the day. Perfect for landing after a late night flight.
Sunset Bar (near the adults only pool)
Open daily from 12pm-8pm they have happy hours at this bar and on different nights have live music.

Premier Departure Lounge
Open 11am-11pm
Opened in May 2019 was the Premier Lounge. Located on the ground level adjacent to Café Piazza, the lounge serves as a venue for the exclusive use of departing guests before they head to the airport. It includes a reception desk, seating areas, WiFi access, and a refreshment station with coffee, tea, juices, soft drinks and nibbles. Changing rooms for both genders will feature digital lockers and shower amenities. There is also a dedicated kid’s corner that will keep youngsters entertained for hours.
With seating for up to 48 people, the Premier Lounge is a facility that will take the hassle out of having to wait around for a late flight. For an entrance fee of just IDR 125,000 net per adult, it will provide peace of mind in knowing that there is somewhere to unwind, eat, drink and shower in full air-conditioned comfort. No charge will apply for children under 12 years of age when accompanied by an adult.

Bali Dynasty Resort Beach Club
The resort is not directly on the beach but a short 50 metre walk to the private beach club. Here are a few photos and video of getting to the beach club.

Outside Bali Dynasty Resort
The Bali Dynasty Resort is not in the heart of Kuta but is a short distance from Waterbom water park and has shops nearby. Here are a few important places nearby.

Video showing the front of the Bali Dynasty Resort and to the left of the main entrance down the street towards Waterbom. Please note the rooms at the front of the resort are all the Family Studio Rooms on all 3 levels.
Video showing walking to the right of the main entrance up to Coco Mart and near Lippo Mall.
Coco Mart near the Bali Dynasty
If you are trying to find supplies for when you arrive, at the entrance turn right and about 100 metres up the street you will find the 24 hours Coco Mart. Here are a few photos of the kind of things they have.
Extra info about the resort
The Dynasty Resort also has a mini mart and shop on the ground floor under the lobby.

The following pictures were taken during my stay in August 2018.

Final thoughts on staying at Bali Dynasty Resort
The resort is perfect for kids that love to be entertained and always have something to do or kids to meet. Once you are in the resort, it doesn’t feel like you are in Kuta. I love how the family rooms are great value and would recommend staying with the kids. Can’t wait to take the family back for a longer stay this time!
