This part of our June Holiday we were joined in Seminyak by our extended family consisting of my Dad and partner, my 3 sisters and their partners and my nephew who was 1 year old. This was the first time we had all come to Bali together and the group included 6 newbies to Bali. They all had a fantastic time and plan to return again. This part of our trip we stayed at Artisane Villa Bali on Jalan Petitenget and had a wonderful stay. Enjoy reading and if you have any questions feel free to message me through Facebook or Instagram.

Thursday June 4th
We transferred from the Holiday Inn Benoa to Artisane Villas and Spa in about 40 minutes. The villa is located about 150m down a gang off Jalan Petitenget and is next to a rice field so is lovely and quiet. The old Tulip restaurant is directly opposite to the entrance to the gang and Taco Casa is close by as well. We booked both 3 bedroom villas with a pool fence, stair gate and high chair/portacot set up in Villa 1 and the adults in Villa 2. Very happy but stairs were steep so took a bit of getting used to! Villa 2 appeared newer and deck in better condition whereas Villa 1 was sunnier and connected to the spa on site.

Favourite game of playing with the rocks. Better than Mason’s other game of throwing them into the pool!
We met Arta, the villa manager, who showed us the ins and outs of everything and also left us a local mobile phone to use with his phone number listed in case we needed anything. The other bonus with the villa was a car and driver was included to drive us around locally. The wifi was temporarily off at the villa so off I headed to nearby Butcher Cafe for some chips, coke and free wifi. Money changed, Pepito supermarket for some much needed nappies and back to the villa. My sister and BIL arrived from Brisbane at 2:30pm and was great to see them! Tati arrived to help with the kids and Jed and I headed off at 7:30pm for our booking at Bambu restaurant in Jalan Petitenget. Oh my gosh yummo!!! The surroundings were so beautiful and service amazing. I had the soft shell crab for entree, duck for main and pandan pancakes for desert with Jed choosing the chicken on lemongrass for entree, pork ribs for main and black rice dumplings for dessert. Very very impressed especially when the bill came as our 3 course meal with cocktails and coffee came to 1,100,00rp or approx $110aud!!
Headed back to say hi to my sisters friend who had arrived from Singapore for 2 nights and waited up for the others to arrive. Jetstar were delayed a hour so they didn’t get to the villa until 11:45pm. Long day for all!!
Friday June 7th
Quiet relaxing day at the villa and even managed a sleep in till 6:30am. Breakfast is included which is great with the kids as we don’t have to get organised to go out. Yummy scrambled eggs, Nespresso coffee, fresh fruit and pancakes for the kids. The staff each day ask what time you would like breakfast served and there is a menu you can select off. Tati arrived at 12pm and we headed to Sea Circus for lunch. So yummy, Jed had a burger and I the chicken and pork tacos!! The mummy mojito was delicious and so wanted to go back for a proper cocktail without the kids.
Charlotte and I enjoying lunch out
Naps and relax time for the kids and I, while Jed headed to Bali Barber and Spa for a hair cut and cut throat shave. It is located near Sunset Road upstairs from the Shampoo Lounge. He said it was great and all up for the shave and Bintang about 300000rp. My other sister, her husband and nephew arrived at 3pm and they had a good run through the airport.
The boys together watching Cars, this happened a lot!!
Pool fence keeping the boys out
Ordered some takeaway from Biku which was yummy and relaxed watching the footy. Nearly headed to bed when my sister, from Brisbane, arrived back from La Lucciola newly engaged!! Drinks poured and time to celebrate, what a great day!!
Saturday June 6th
Today was a girls day out. Headed off to Think Pink Nails in Batu Belig at 10am for manicure and pedicures. Everyone was very happy and Charlotte loved her princess chair and having her nails done. Once she was done they gave her an iPad to play with which kept her entertained while us girls finished off.
Charlotte loving her princess chair
Booked a few weeks out so we could all sit together
The driver was free to drive us to Biku
We then headed to Biku at 12pm for high tea. Love Biku and always make sure I visit at least once each trip. This time round I had the Asian High Tea and loved it, very yummy! Everyone enjoyed the experience and Charlotte loved her childrens high tea, especially the fairy bread! Bill totalled 880,000rp or approx $88aud for 4 Asian High teas, 2 Traditional High teas, 1 Children’s High tea and 1 glass of champagne.
Headed back to the villa for bintangs by the pool and then were driven to the Royal Beach Seminyak at 5pm. I had made a booking a few weeks ago at the beachfront Capris Restaurant but alas when we arrived no booking!! Was all good as they had plenty of tables and drinks watching the sunset were brilliant.

My happy place, the smiles say it all!!
Dinner overall was great, I had the Sate Campur which I loved and a few had the lamb rack which they were impressed with. Was a great family dinner and lots of space for the kids to run around and check out the beach.
All set for dinner at Royal Beach Seminayak

Sunday June 7th
Today started with a walk up to Mini Revolver on Jalan Petitenget for an early morning coffee. Was good, just what I needed after another early wake up!!
Lovely little spot to sit in Mini Revolver
The rest of the morning was spent relaxing with swims in the pool and massages in the spa room attached to our villa. Oh my gosh, bliss! $18aud for a hour and was so lovely, both mums very happy!!
Tati arrived and had brought her daughter Indi who was 6 yrs old. Charlotte was so happy to have a friend to play with and even though she spoke no English they got on so well!! We then headed off to the W resort for brunch at Starfish Bloo. It was absolute mayhem when we arrived at 12:10pm, people everywhere and the line for the seafood took 5-10 mins. We had a lovely view from our big table and once everyone was sorted we sat back and enjoyed some yummy food. My dad was in heaven with all the seafood and I loved the bbq area with the satay. The dessert area was amazing and oh my gosh we were all so full!!
The kids activity area was fantastic on the grass with face painting, toys and craft things to do.
Lovely spot to chill for adults too!!
Mason and Tati enjoying the craft table
The girls were very keen for a swim so we headed to the pool and it was lovely. Just a note that they won’t provide you with towels if you aren’t staying at the resort. They are happy for you to use the pool facilities and there is toilets close by where you can get changed.
Heading home after a big day!!
Could definitely stay here!! After we got back and everyone was relaxed I headed off to Eat Street for a walk. I love to walk around by myself taking in the sights. Walked down Eat Street to La Lucciola and then walked up the beach towards Mozaic Beach Club watching the sunset. Because it was Sunday evening the beach was packed with local families enjoying themseleves.

Early chilled out night with takeaway from Taco Casa to end a great day.
Monday June 8th
Well there was only one word for today, interesting!! Poor Jed had fevers overnight so wasn’t feeling that great. He took a couple of panadol when he woke which helped as we had family photos with Evermotion Photography. It was all very casual and a lot of candid shots. We started in the gardens at the villa then had a couple outside the Boatshed shops near Sea Circus as well as outside Motel Mexicola. We then walked to La Lucciola for photos under their gorgeous palms as well as beach shots. Adi the photographer and his friend Budi were fantastic and very easy going. I’m so happy with the end result and will do a seperate post with the photos and details.

After the photos we came back to freshen up as crazy Mason had gone for a swim in the sand!! Berta, our nanny, arrived for the day and it was so lovely to see her again. We then headed to Waterbom park and hired a family gazebo near the kids area which was fantastic. Stupid me left my bathers back at the villa so I had to buy a new pair, as it was at least a 45 minute drive back to the villa. Luckily I found a pair that fit and I liked in the shop at Waterbom on sale for $50aud. Sister Nat and I went up to the Constrictor but she chickened out half way up as she hates heights!! Charlotte had an absolute ball and even went down the enclosed Viper ride. Her, Jed and I went down the Python together and I screamed like a baby with her telling me at the end it’s ok mummy don’t be scared and if you come on another ride with me you can’t scream so much!!

Fun in the kids zone, it was the busiest day I have ever had at Waterbom

Felt sorry for Nat as she had the cheeseburger for lunch and then threw it up a hour later!! Not much fun for her. Mason was running a bit of a fever so we headed back with the 2 kids. We have in our family what is known as the dreaded Waterbom curse and it hit again. Both times we have previously been with Charlotte she has vomited in the car on the way there!! Well half way back to the villa stuck in horrendous traffic I heard the dreaded cough and yep you guessed it Mason spewed!! I was well prepared with towels and luckily it wasn’t huge. Poor little fella was ok and once back to the villa with some nurofen on board was happy as. Poor Jed got back and was feverish again and went straight to bed where he didn’t rise until morning. Dinner was takeaway pizza from Rustica Cucina Italiana on Batu Belig and was very yummy!!
Tuesday 9th June
Well and truly hit the relaxed phase of our holiday. The morning consisted of not much but breakfast, massages at the villa and lazing around. Jed slept 16 hours so felt better and Mason had a good sleep and seemed better than yesterday, win win.
This lovely old farmer was always up for a wave and smile when we walked past
Tati and Debbie arrived at 3pm so Nat, Cam, Jed and I headed out at 5pm for some kid free time.
Villa manager Arta driving us to dinner
We went to Potato Head Beach Club for a few yummy cocktails and watch the sunset. All very happy and managed to get a seat after waiting a couple of minutes. Was so nice to sit back and have no kids running around!!
Nat and Cam then had a booking at Bambu and Jed and I at Merah Putih on Jalan Petitenget. We both loved Merah Putih, the combination of the fabulous architecture, AC, great food and drinks. Jed had the beef fillet and I the pork belly. The pork belly was soo yummy. We shared a few desserts and they were delicious!! Found the service to be great but we were seated in the middle of the room so always had staff around us. All up the bill came to 1mil rp or approx $100aud. This was for 2 mains, 4 desserts, 2 cocktails and 2 juices. Another great day in Bali!
