The last time we stayed in Canggu it was 2013 and I was keen to get back! Our stay at Canggu Villa Merah was a perfect first stop in Canggu for our October 2019 Bali holiday and this 3 bedroom villa had everything our family could need.

Canggu Villa Merah Overview
Located right next to Canggu Plaza in Berawa, the location of Canggu Villa Merah is fantastic and easy for taxis to find. There is a security guard just outside the villa 24/7 so we felt safe at all times. The main door to the villa has a key so you can lock it for when you are sleeping or to keep the kids in during the day. Each bedroom and living area also has a key lock so that you can feel secure while you are sleeping.
A housekeeper is included with the villa and she will come to clean the villa at a time that suits guests. There is also a manager that you can contact and Maria the owner is great to deal with.

Canggu Villa Merah pool and gardens
The grass area was great for the kids to run around and the sun loungers perfect to relax on while the kids were swimming. They also have outside bean bags to relax on in the sun. The pool was a good size with the kids and having the pool fence gave us peace of mind with the kids. The metal pool fence was from Eve Baby Care and can be organised to be ready for when you arrive. Currently the cost for the pool fence is USD$20 per day.

Canggu Villa Merah Bedrooms
The villa has 3 huge bedrooms all with ensuites. 2 of the bedrooms are side by side (but do not interconnect) and have king sized four poster beds with mosquito nets. In the 3rd bedroom the beds were king singles also with an ensuite. The air-conditioning worked really well and having fans was a bonus. The bathrooms had the usual toiletries provided and also a hairdryer. We found the beds to be really comfortable and the sheets/towels of good quality. Plenty of storage for our luggage and a desk in each bedroom made it easy for me to get some work in!

Canggu Villa Merah Living Space
The living area was a great space to chill out in and the air conditioning once again worked really well. TV with a DVD player and speakers for when we wanted to watch a movie while the kids were asleep. The kitchen had everything we needed including a coffee machine, microwave, full fridge, stove and oven. We did a shop at Canggu Station a 1 minute walk around the street so that we had snacks and breakfast supplies for when the kids woke up. If you arrive on a late night flight, the villa team can organise (at a cost) for food to be in the fridge for the next morning.

Inclusions with Canggu Villa Merah
What I love about villas is that they have the extra things that make holidays with kids easy. At Canggu Villa Merah they had a washing machine with powder, a filtered water dispenser, high chair, porta cot, baby bath and an information book on things to do around Canggu.
But probably the biggest bonus of staying at Canggu Villa Merah is the 6 Finns Platinum VIP Membership cards included in the villa rate. These cards can save you a lot of money especially with kids!
These Finn VIP Membership cards have lots of benefits including:
- Free access to Splash Water Park at Finns Recreation Club plus free towel hire. Check out our full review here
- Free to visit Finns VIP Beach Club, no minimum spend on a day bed
- Discount on Food and Beverage at both Finns Recreation Club and Finns VIP Beach Club
- Complimentary access to the Fitness Centre and classes

What is close by to Canggu Villa Merah
So many places walking distance from the villa that were fantastic with the kids. Parachute restaurant was across the road, Mades Warung Berawa and Mickyβs Mad House a 150 metre walk from the villa. In the other direction Canggu Plaza was literally next door. Trattoria had delicious Italian and was easy to pop next door to get pizzas. There is also The Savage Kitchen, Suksema Sushi Bar and Esthetic Day Spa which did a great massage and hair creme bath! There were discounts available with some of these places for staying at Canggu Villa Merah. Next to Canggu Plaza was a selection of ATMs that I used with no problems.
Across from Canggu Plaza was a small medical centre open 24/7 and pharmacy. We didnβt need to use them but it was great to know it was nearby. For shopping supplies Canggu Station had a selection, not the cheapest but an easy spot to get supplies. There was also Starbucks next to Canggu Station, not that I drink coffee at Starbucks π

We also walked with the kids to Finns Recreation Club and even around to Milk and Madu (we did this for breakfast and not in the middle of the day in the heat). We took a taxi to Berawa Beach where Finn Beach Club is located as it was too long to walk with the kids in the Bali heat! Lots of taxis were driving past the villa or we sometimes ordered a Blue Bird taxi through the App.

If you wanting to stay in a 3 bedroom Canggu villa I highly recommend looking at booking Canggu Villa Merah. It is in a great spot to explore Berawa and itβs also really easy to pop into Seminyak. If you would like to find more out about Canggu Villa Merah, check out their website.
