I have now stayed three times at Montigo Resort Seminyak, once with friends and twice with the kids, and loved it each time! The location is perfect if you want easy access to restaurants, coffee and shopping.

Why should your family stay at Montigo Resort Seminyak?

  • If you want a resort that is in a great location close to upmarket restaurants and shops
  • If a secure kids club is important to you and having engaged kids club staff
  • If you are searching for a huge 2 bedroom suite to fit the whole family (if you have more than 2 kids, contact the resort directly to chat to them)
  • If you want a resort that isn’t huge, easy to walk around and really easy to pop out to the local mini mart
  • Having an onsite spa with reasonable resort prices and excellent massages

Montigo Seminyak Overview

Montigo is located on Jl Petitenget in Seminyak, Bali. It is a resort that has a range of guests including families, couples and friends. It is not a huge resort so walking around it is easy and pram friendly. The staff are so lovely and we have made great friends every time we go back to stay.

Montigo Seminyak Resort has many packages on their website and you can find their current offers here.

Pools at Montigo Resort Bali

There are 3 pools at Montigo Resort Seminyak which meant it is perfect for pool hopping with the kids!

The pool near the road at Montigo Seminyak is located right next to TIIGO Restaurant so you get to have breakfast by the pool and can enjoy food 24 hours a day. It has a shallow area as well as a deeper area for swimming with seats in the pool for cocktails.

Family pool in the middle of the resort

The pool in the middle of The Montigo Resort is named the family pool and is long enough to do a few laps too! It has steps leading into the pool making it easy to get in and out of plus a shallow pool for the younger kids. The end closest to the gym is quite deep and my kids loved jumping off the end into the pool. The pool is similar to pre covid times and is a great temperature for the kids.

This was a great pool to relax with lots of grass for the kids to run around on. The steps leading into the pool were perfect to sit back and enjoy a drink plus the depth of the pool was good with kids. This pool is located at the back of the resort.

Kids Club at Montigo Resort Seminyak

Open 9am-9pm

The kids club is huge! Our kids loved chilling out in the air conditioned space while I enjoyed a massage at the spa. I came back to art work that the kids had done with the staff and best of all, I felt comfortable leaving Mason at the kids club without our nanny. It was very secure and the staff were very engaged with the kids.

Rooms at Montigo Seminyak Resort

I have now stayed in 3 different room types at Montigo Seminyak. The 2 bedroom suite in 2022, Garden Suite room in 2019 and Balcony Suite room in 2018. I have also viewed the premier and deluxe rooms in the tall building overlooking the family pool.

  • Baby cots are complimentary and Wifi works well around the resort
  • Each room has international power points

Garden Suite Rooms

We loved the garden suite rooms during our stay in 2019. There was plenty of space for the 3 of us and if hubby had come along on our trip we would have still fit in these rooms. The TV turns to face either the bed or the day bed and had a large range of channels.

Located upstairs from the Garden Suite rooms, these are the same size inside the room but have a balcony instead of a garden space. They are also located up a set of stairs and also come in a twin bed configuration.

2 Bedrooms Suites

The 2 bedroom suites are fantastic for families with so much space. A master bedroom with full ensuite and then the kids room with twin beds and another full ensuite. There is also a seperate lounge room with TV plus a powder room with a toilet. There are 4 of these suites available at Montigo Resort Seminyak, 2 down stairs and 2 up stairs. They have there own entrance area and are located at the back of the resort near the garden pool.

Food at Montigo Resort Seminyak

The food at Montigo Resort Seminyak was of good quality and well priced. You can also enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner as an outside guest.

The restaurant at the front of the resort has been renamed Tadd’s Restaurant and TIIGO bar has opened near the main pool.

Breakfast at Tadd’s Restaurant

7am – 10am

There was a big range for the kids at breakfast with pancakes, cereal and lots more. I also love that you could order a latte that was included in the breakfast and was good.

Room Service

We ordered room service for the kids and they loved the pizza! The food was delivered in a good amount of time and prices were reasonable. I love that you can get food 24 hours a day making it perfect to stay with a late flight into Bali.

Lunch: 11:30am-5pm

Dinner: 6pm-10:30pm

I enjoyed dinner by myself while the kids were asleep with our nanny in the room. Big menu, yummy cocktails and great service.

You can even enjoy a swim! The restaurant was previously named TIIGO

TIIGO Bar

Located near the main pool area, the bar is open 9am-9pm. Serving delicious food and drinks to enjoy by the pool. It is a newer inclusion to Montigo Seminyak so we haven’t enjoyed it yet but is a welcome addition to the resort.

Spa at Montigo Resort Seminyak

Open 9am to 9pm

I enjoyed a Balinese massage both times I stayed at Montigo Seminyak Resort and I must say it is one of the best I have had in Bali! The prices are very reasonable for a resort and the spa building is huge! You can access the spa as an outside guest and the best part is you can pop the kids into the kids club and then enjoy a massage. Click here for the spa details at Montigo Spa.

Charlotte also enjoyed a kids pedicure and was treated like a princess.

      Hi Kate
Great reviews. I read somewhere that the noise from Mrs Sippy was very bad. We’ve booked a stay in September and now I’m worried about the noise. We have booked a balcony suite. Any advice welcome. Thank you

    Hi Kate,

My husband and I are going in May 2020 with our then 16month old – first trip with our little boy. Do you recommend any place in particular to stay (was looking at Mandira or Montigo) or doesn’t really matter with a bub so young? We will have a nanny with us most days to go into kids club etc. I would love your advice.

    Thanks so much,
    Maddi

I have replied above but I think at that age all they do is swim, play and eat so I would stay where you want to x

Hi!! We will be visiting next May with our 16 month old for the first time as a family – I am wondering where you would recommend to stay or it wouldn’t really matter with our boy being so young? We have tentatively booked the Bali Mandira but I am now looking at Montigo? Any advice would greatly be appreciated 🙂

Hi, I think they are both great resorts x Mandira is directly on the beach and is closer to access the markets of Legian. Montigo is more in the heart of Petitenget which has amazing boutique shopping and restaurants. Cheers, Kate

    Hi Kate,

I will be going to Montigo with my bf and bub in Jan. She will be 18 months by then. Are there nannies available to hire at Montigo? Is the Kids club like a daycare? Or do parents need to stay there with the children? Do you think the Garden Suite will be okay? Is it new like the other rooms?

The garden suites are great, we have stayed in those rooms too. At 18 mths a parent or nanny will need to accompany your daughter to the kids club. We organise our own nannies but Montigo will be able to help you out too 🙂

Hey Kate! Great reviews.. If you were forced to make a choice would you choose the 2 bedroom suite at the Courtyard Marriott Seminyak or the 2 bedroom suite at the Montigo (I have read your excellent reviews of your stays at both!). 🙂 Or any feedback on the pro’s / con’s when comparing each would be awesome…

Hi, We do love the Montigo for the position in Seminyak. That being said they are both excellent rooms and you won’t be disappointed in either!
