We had a great stay at the Novotel Nusa Dua in October 2019 and consider it a great value option in Nusa Dua for families especially larger families with many kids.

Novotel Nusa Dua Overview
Novotel Nusa Dua is located in the gated community of Bali known as Nusa Dua. You will find many 5 star resorts in Nusa Dua and the local shopping complex is known as Bali Collection. The Novotel Nusa Dua isn’t directly on the beach but the free hotel shuttle bus picks you up regularly and drops you at the beach club. If you are interested in visiting Novotel Nusa Dua on a day pass check out our blog post here for details.
Please note that I take my photos and videos of public areas early in the morning as I try not to have other guests in my photos.
Apartments at Novotel Nusa Dua
The apartments at Novotel Nusa Dua have so much space! They aren’t brand new but have everything you could need and for the price are great value. Become a Accor Hotels member for free and have access to exclusive sales and deals.
You can also often find Novotel Nusa Dua on Scoopon and if you can score a deal, there is more to spend on food and drinks!
We stayed in a 2 bedroom Apartment Suite with a pool and I also had a look through a 2 bedroom Apartment Suite with a Balcony in October 2019 and the 3 bedroom Apartment Suite with a pool in April 2019. They even have 4 bedroom apartments so check out their website for more details on each room type.
2 bedroom Apartment Suite with a Pool
The size of our apartment amazed me when we first arrived at Novotel Nusa Dua. There was just so much space and the kids loved having their own room (but to be honest Mason slept with me and Jed with Charlotte which is usually the case in our household!) The bath in the master ensuite was a great size and we loved how easy it was to access the resort pools being on the ground floor.
We had been upgraded to a pool apartment and to be honest I didn’t know if the pool would be used by our kids. Well they absolutely loved it and it was great for them to have a splash and muck around while we relaxed in the bale. The doors leading out to the pool area have a chain lock for extra security.
2 bedroom Apartment Suite with a Balcony
These rooms also had a huge amount of space for the whole family and they had lifts up to these rooms. The balcony was large but just keep an eye on younger kids as the vertical slats were a bit too wide apart for my liking. They do have a chain lock out onto the balcony for safety.
3 bedroom Apartment Suite with Pool
The room that I was shown in April 2019 during our day visit to the Novotel Nusa Dua was very similar to the room we stayed in but had an extra bedroom. Perfect for larger families.
Pools at Novotel Nusa Dua
The pools are huge at Novotel Nusa Dua and are set over 2 levels. There is a shallow area for the younger kids and I loved our much shade there was from the trees. The pool was a great temperature and our kids had hours of fun playing in the pool. Food and drinks are easy to get and I loved that you could also sit up at a table and chairs to have lunch right near the pool. It can be a bit tricky if the younger kids want to hop to and from the 2 pools. Mason was OK this trip but we also had Monica our nanny to help us out. The photos below were taken early morning. During the day the pool was busier with lots of families but we could always find a lounge chair.
Novotel Nusa Dua Kids Club
Open 8:30am – 5:30pm plus a movie each night from 6:30pm-8pm
Kids aged 4-10 years are free
Kids under 4 years can join in the fun with a nanny, parent or hotel babysitter.
A hotel babysitter can be organised for a cost of IDR 60,000 per hour minimum 2 hours
The kids club was enjoyed by both of our kids and there always seemed to be other kids enjoying it too during our stay. Charlotte loved making a bracelet and Mason loved testing out the toys! They have different activities during the day but they do adjust the program depending on what the kids want to do. I loved how close the kids club was to the pool so it was easy for the kids to have a chill out in the kids club while we relaxed by the pool.
Restaurants at Novotel Nusa Dua
There was a great range of food options at Novotel Nusa Dua and we enjoyed all of the food and drinks that we ate and drank. Prices are what you would expect from a resort, not cheap but not expensive either. Good options for the kids to choose from and there seemed to be some gluten free options but it would be best to contact the hotel directly if you have any dietary requirements.
We had breakfast at both The Square Restaurant and also enjoyed the Novotel Sunrise Breakfast at 2.28 Beach Club. I will talk about the Sunrise Breakfast further down in the blog post.
Open 6:30am – 10:30am
Breakfast at The Square Restaurant had a good range and the kids were happy with pancakes, cereal, fruit and juice. It wasn’t the best buffet breakfast I have experienced in Bali but there was definitely enough to fill us up! We went to breakfast early as the kids are always awake at 6am and there was heaps of tables available. When I walked past later at 9am I noticed there was a line up at the entry to get a table.
The Square Restaurant
Breakfast 6:30am – 10:30am
Lunch 12pm – 5pm
Dinner 6:30pm – 10:30pm
The main restaurant of the resort that breakfast and the themed dinners are held at. You can choose to eat from here too while you are poolside and many of the drinks are the same as at the Gourmet Bar.
Open 9am-12am with happy hours from 5pm-7pm
The Gourmet Bar is located next to the pool and is a great spot for lunch or dinner. The cocktails also go down very nicely!
Open 7am – 10pm
I enjoyed some alone time at the Pause Cafe and found the coffee to be good. I asked if they had almond milk but they only had soy milk available. They had a yummy selection of food and drinks.
The alacarte breakfast options are a good choice if you don’t book a room with breakfast included. Please note that all of the prices in the menu below are Net and don’t have a tax and service addition to them.
We ordered room service the first night we stayed at the Novotel Nusa Dua as it was late after our flight and the kids were tired. The dining table in our apartment was great for the staff to set up our dinner and the food below plus 2 Bintangs and 2 juices cost $70AUD. Sorry I forgot to take photos of the room service menu but I remember it had a good selection of food available!
2.28 Beach club at Novotel Nusa Dua
Happy Hours 5-7pm
As I noted before the Novotel Nusa Dua isn’t directly on the beach. They have a shuttle bus available every 15 minutes from 8am to 8pm to take guests to and from the beach club that is located 500m from the hotel. We found this really easy and actually a lot of fun with the kids! You can also walk down to the beach if you want to.
The beach club has lounge chairs and you can collect a beach towel from the towel counter. They have a counter for water sports depending on what you would like to do. WIFI is also available at the beach club.
The sand at the beach is lovely and is cleaned daily. When we were at the beach club early afternoon having a swim the current was very strong and we didn’t let the kids go out too far. The pictures below were just before high tide.
Sunrise Breakfast at 2.28 Beach Club
Held from 6:30am – 10am (booking essential)
We had an amazing time at the Sunrise Breakfast and were very lucky to have a beautiful sunrise. We arrived at the lobby at 5:50am and they took us to the beach club in a shuttle bus. We had requested for our breakfast to be served at 6:30am and enjoyed the sunrise at the waters edge while they prepared our breakfast. It was so big we couldn’t eat everything! The food was yummy and the lattes were perfect for our early morning start.
You need to book 1 day in advance and make sure you pack sunscreen, hats and sunglasses for when the sun is up as it got hot quickly!

Beach Barbeque Themed Dinner 2.28 Beach Club
Each night from 6:30pm – 10pm the Novotel Nusa Dua has a themed dinner. We enjoyed the Saturday night Beach BBQ themed dinner at 2.28 Beach Club and the weather was perfect. So much food and the desserts were delicious! Remember that happy hour at the 2.28 Beach Club is from 5-7pm.
Activities at Novotel Nusa Dua
There are so many activities to do at the Novotel Nusa Dua. The free guest activities program is full of fun things to do and the bike riding activities looked like a great option and they have 2 bikes with toddler seats.

Novotel Nusa Dua Bali Gardens
I loved walking around the gardens and there was so much space for the kids to run around on the well looked after grass. I couldn’t stop taking photos and videos! Here are a few of my favourites.

Outside the resort
The Bali Collection is located a 10 minute walk from the front entrance to the Novotel Nusa Dua but if you are after local shops, laundry’s, spas etc. you are best to go out the back entrance near the Pause Cafe. Here you will find Jl Raya Nusa Dua Selatan that is shown in the photos and video below.
We had a great time at Novotel Nusa Dua and can’t wait to visit again soon. Next time we will stay longer and enjoy relaxing by the pool with our kids.
