Westin Ubud Overview
The Westin Resort Ubud is located a 15 minute drive south of central Ubud and is one of only a few true Ubud resorts for families. There is a small convienance store a short walk from the hotel and also cafes and a larger supermarket a 15-20 minute walking distance. There is no resort shuttle into Ubud but a private driver can be organised by the hotel. It’s important to compare prices and ensure that the aggreement is to drive you back to the resort. Other options are using your own private driver, this is the option we used, or using apps like Grab or Gojek.

Ubud Map
See the Ubud map below that I put together of the places we have experienced in Ubud.
The Pool at The Westin Ubud Resort
Only one word to describe the pool at The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, WOW! It is beautiful overlooking the river below. During our June 2022 stay we found plenty of loungers to use around the pool but availability can vary during the day and at peak times. The pool bar was also a definite highlight for the kids and mum! Great service and drinks were delicious. Expect to pay resort prices but they have different deals like happy hours.
The kids also loved the spa to hang out in and there is a toddler pool connected to the kids club. With any infinity pool I am always wary of Mason and his abilities to jump off things! The ledge underneath the pool gave me some reassurance but we always kept him from trying to sit on the infinity edge of the pool.

Kids Club at Westin Ubud
The kids club at Westin Ubud is in a great location near the main pool. Perfect to relax by the pool and enjoy a few cocktails while the kids are looked in the kids club. They have a great range of activities and our kids especially loved the resident bunnies! Some activities have a small cost and the kids club is open from 9am-7pm. Kids aged 4-12 years can attend without an adult, under 4 years need an adult to accompany them but you may also get lucky like our friends that left their 3 year old at the kids club.

Restaurants at Westin Ubud
The food and drinks at The Westin Ubud is of high quality and has a great range. The breakfast was fantastic and I loved the healthy options available. Coffee was great too! Another positive is the kids menu available, once again healthy options on the menu so you feel like the kids are getting at least a few veggies on holidays!
Tabia Restaurant
Open 6:30am-10:30am for breakfast and 6pm-10pm for a buffet dinner each night.
Archipelago Buffet Dinner costs IDR 275,000++ per person, 50% discount for kids under 12 years old

Talls Tree Restaurant
Open 11am-10pm

Lobby Bar
Open 11am-10:30pm
Located on the lobby level overlooking the resort, perfect for a cocktail and light bites

Rooms at The Westin Ubud
The rooms are comfortable with large bathrooms and plenty of bench space. The cheaper rooms ie. king garden view room is the room we stayed in during our stay June 2022. The kids and I aged 9 and 12 years easily fit in the one King bed, our 12 year old is as tall as me so adult size. These rooms are located near the road, you can’t really see the traffic that occasionally drives past but on the balcony we could hear some road traffic. In the room it wasn’t as loud.
My preference would be the pool view rooms
King Garden View Room

Other room types
There are a range of more expensive rooms than the garden view rooms that we stayed in. There are connecting rooms available for some room types but Click here.

Heavenly Spa by Westin
Open from 10am-10pm the spa at The Westin is beautiful and a great range of high quality services. Prices are reflective of a resort spa and is one of our choices for the best spa in Ubud.

Gym Facilities
The gym has a great range of equipment and is located next to the spa. It is open 24 hours and features lockers and steam rooms. The yoga pavillion is located in the beautiful garden overlooking the river.

What Is Nearby To Westin Ubud Resort & Spa
It is not walking distance into Ubud with kids. The roads have sections that are hard to walk along and quite frankly it is do damn hard in the heat! When we stayed we organised our own private driver to take us into Ubud for a few hours. You could also ask the reception at The Westin to organise a driver but please note, there is currently no shuttle and the driver is not affiliated with the resort.
Within walking distance to the resort are smaller convienance stores and cafes.

Rusters
I found this gorgeous cafe on one of my morning walks. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to and early morning is best when there is less traffic.

Section 9
This is another gorgeous cafe overlooking the rice fields that does a nice almond latte. Didn’t try the food but menu was extensive

There are gorgeous streets to walk through that have minimal traffic, I particularly liked the
