We are always searching for the best family resorts in Bali and we finally stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Bali in Kuta. I am usually not a huge fan of Kuta but this trip may have converted me! The Hard Rock Bali is so much fun for the whole family and the kids didn’t want to leave.

Why should your family stay at the Hard Rock Bali?

  • You have kids that love to be involved in activities
  • Modern rooms with great facilities are high on your wish list
  • Close access to beach, shopping malls and activities like Waterbom Water Park
  • Awesome for teenagers that can have independent access to the supervised teen club and music at Centerstage

Hard Rock Kuta Overview

Hard Rock Hotel Bali is located in Kuta and is separated from Kuta Beach by a one way street. The street does get busy but is easy to cross. The driveway for the Hard Rock is from the beach street and this is the access to the resort 24 hours. There is security at the gate all hours of the day. The gate near Jaime Oliver Kitchen has been closed to secure the resort for in-house guests only.

Pools at Hard Rock Bali

There are 2 pools at Hard Rock Bali. You have the Main Pool area with slides, kids water park, swim up bar, sand bar and where activities take place like rock climbing, movie on the sand island, foam party etc. There is also a Chill Out Pool located in the wing only accessed by guests staying here. Kids can use this pool too but the activities all happen at the main pool area.

Main Pool

The main pool has something for everyone! A large space with many areas to explore. I recommend if you plan to have a full day by the pool to hire a cabana. The perfect spot to sit back and relax while the kids enjoy all of the activities. You have access to your cabana from 9am-9pm and you can come and go as you please. We went and had dinner at Jaime Oliver Kitchen then the kids had a night time swim, it was a lot of fun!

You book at the pool hut near the main pool and if there is a specific cabana you would like, be sure to book it in early. When we stayed in June 2022 the prices for the cabana and picnic basket with snacks and water were 550,000 IDR for the day or approx $55AUD. Since we stayed there has been a slight price increase, so check prices when you arrive at the Hard Rock. Check out this link for more details about the main pool at the Hard Rock.

Currently day passes aren’t available for outside guests. Only for in-house guests and stage pass members.

You can see all the different food options and menus at this link here.

Hard Rock Bali Kids Clubs

The Hard Rock Bali has something for every age group! The Roxity Kids Club has a great range of activities and is included in some suite/room types. Other guests can join in but need to purchase a pass for the kids to participate. This is easy to organise and can be done during your stay at the Hard Rock Bali. Please note that currently kids need to wear a mask indoors while playing at the kids clubs. For outdoor activities they can be removed.

I have discussed with the Hard Rock about kids with Autism being allowed access to the kids club. The Hard Rock have responded that ASD kids can not be allowed entry into the Roxity Kids Club due to lack of supervision options from staff and that outside nannies are not allowed into the kids club. This may impact your decision on staying at the Hard Rock if you have neuro divergent kids and want to use the kids club.

Hard Rock Bali Rock Spa

We had a great massage at the Rock Spa and it is located above the gym. Allow yourself plenty of time before your massage as they have a spa and sauna facilities that you are welcome to use too. Find the spa menu and opening hours at this link here.

Close to Hard Rock Bali

Hard Rock Bali is located in Kuta and there is lots to do around the resort. Here are a few places we visited during our June 2022 stay. There was still some shops and restaurants closed due to the pandemic but things were gradually opening up.

Beachwalk Mall

A short walk from the Hard Rock, the Beachwalk Shopping Mall was well and truly open. We did need to wear masks and show our international vaccination certificates to enter. Here you will find lots of restaurants, clothes shops, Candylicious, cinemas and much more.

Kuta Beach

We loved both sunrise and sunset down at Kuta Beach. They also have a turtle release on different days through the year at the Bali Sea Turtle Society. Check out their Facebook page for up to date information.

Crumb and Coaster Cafe

One of my favourite finds was Crumb and Coaster cafe. A 10 minute walk from Hard Rock Bali, they do a great coffee, delicious food and are open from 7:30am-11pm. Next door is Desa Meksiko Cafe that is worth a visit too. Unfortunately we ran out of time! They are open from 11am-11pm and serve Mexican food with gorgeous interiors.

Spas close to Hard Rock Bali

We didn’t have time to try out spas close to the hotel in Kuta but a Facebook Group member recommended Smart Salon and Relaxing Spot Kuta. Pop it into Google maps, but is located just past Jaime Oliver Kitchen.

We enjoyed our stay at Hard Rock Bali in Kuta and the kids can’t wait to go back again with their cousins!

We paid for our accommodation and food. We collaborated with Hard Rock Bali and received the Cabana with picnic basket, 2 x massage and access to the kids club. All thoughts in this article are our own.
